Drilling again, this time for GOLD

Under the hood of PGC- Past projects

Pursuant as a participant in the implementation of the Geothermal Steam Act of 1970, which was carried out in 1974 through the offering of all public lands in the western United States for leasing. The company established its framework based on the tectonic setting of the western United States, providing the foundation for selecting the initial 50 targets for geothermal leasing.
The company applied for over 550,000 acres across 10 states, guided by sound geologic criteria. This comprehensive assessment of the western United States identified areas capable of supporting power generation, focusing on tectonically active regions. Using a privately developed map highlighting these zones—created by James B. Koenig, the future founder of Geothermex, Inc.—the company began selecting geothermal targets suitable for development.
This process led to the identification of 50 specific locations for geothermal leasing. The resulting inventory of geothermal sites also served as the foundation for selecting the first areas for gold exploration, forming the basis for future gold property acquisitions—five of which are already underway.
